Sustainability needs to move to the heart of investor relations and providing clear messaging and data is a critical component. The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) together with SRI Connect has prepared the second in a series of investor relations guidance tear sheets. This tear sheet highlights essential information for investor relations teams considering investor information needs and in communicating sustainable equity stories and ESG data.
The sheet provides insight into investor information needs and uses and how to develop corporate sustainable equity stories. It features a case study from Philip Morris International (PMI), a member of the CFO Network on their own experience communicating business transformation. This sheet builds on the first, which focuses on ESG capital markets days and investor roadshows.
The guidance was prepared in collaboration with SRI Connect’s Sustainable IR and with support from members of WBCSD’s CFO Network. WBCSD’s CFO Network which brings together 60 CFOs from across all sectors and geographies – together representing over USD 1.5 trillion in combined revenue and over 3 million employees. Under its Redesigning Capital Markets workstream, members of the CFO Network are working together to develop sustainable investor relations best practices and guidance and pioneer thought leadership into sustainable business valuation.
The third, final tear sheet will focus on identifying and targeting sustainable investors.
