Beijing, 21 June 2019: China Business Council for Sustainable Development (CBCSD) and Korea Business Council for Sustainable Development (KBCSD) held the 3rd China-Korea CEO Roundtable on Sustainable Development over the course of two days in Beijing.
Placed under the theme of “Exploring New Opportunity for Business High-Quality and Sustainable Development”, the meeting most notably focused on topics related to implementing high-quality development, moving towards intelligent enterprises, China-Korea cooperation on biodiversity conservation, and avenues for cooperation around the green development of China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
Launched in 2015, the ‘China-Korea CEO Roundtable on Sustainable Development’ is a CEO-led consultative process that was inaugurated in the wake of the bilateral free trade agreement that came into effect between both countries in December 2015. The Roundtable aims to exchange successful cases and best practices and to expand low-carbon, green business opportunities between Chinese and Korean enterprises.
The meeting, attended by senior leaders and representatives from government, business and academia, was co-chaired by Mr. Zhai Qi, Deputy Secretary-General of CBCSD, and Mr. HONG Hyun Jong, Secretary-General of KBCSD, with Mr. WANG Jiming, President of CBCSD and Mr. HUH Myung Soo, Chairman of KBCSD, delivering the opening remarks.
