Geneva, 13 March 2023: WBCSD is pleased to welcome two new partners within its Global Network: CSR Sweden and IMS Luxembourg. This network of more than 60 business-led organizations worldwide represents some 6500 businesses, all united by a shared commitment to providing business leadership for sustainable development across the world.
As a global community, this network connects business, policy and civil society sustainability leaders to exchange knowledge and insights, build capacity, and enhance each other’s reach, impact and credibility. CSR Sweden and IMS Luxembourg bring significant sustainability expertise and competence to the WBCSD Global Network, further strengthening its close-knit footprint across Europe and building new bridges with partners in the Americas, Asia-Pacific and Africa.
CSR Sweden is a network of companies representing different sectors with the goal of working collaboratively to drive corporate social responsibility and sustainability across Sweden and beyond. The organization’s goals and business plan focus on advancing the objectives of the United Nations Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), enabling cooperation between business and society. For 20 years, CSR Sweden has been supporting its members in enabling knowledge transfer, providing inspiration and facilitating the sustainability conversation for companies in Sweden as well as staying on the pulse of key developments in Europe and worldwide.
Their priority work areas are organized in Knowledge Hubs: Responsible Taxation; AI & Digitization; Healthy Working Life; Inclusive Labor Market; The Value Chain, Human Rights & Due Diligence; Just Transition and ESG & Reporting. People participating in these Knowledge Hubs are often invited to participate in various conferences in Sweden and abroad and to develop national policies and guidelines.
Marianne Bogle, Manager Director at CSR Sweden, said: “As a business organization that seeks cooperation with all actors in society, we are excited to join the WBCSD Global Network to benefit from the vantage point of a global perspective. In a world that needs to change to reach the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we look forward to collaborating with the WBCSD Global Network and sharing cutting-edge tools and a global perspective to help make this possible”.
IMS – Inspiring More Sustainability - Luxembourg has been the leading network of Luxembourg companies active in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for 15 years. IMS' mission is to inspire responsible strategies and practices among national economic actors. IMS Luxembourg supports its members through collaborative and federating projects by promoting dialogue with stakeholders (private, public and associative). They provide expertise, publications, concrete solutions, awareness, and information (through campaigns, forums, training, clubs and workshops). This network represents almost 25% of Luxembourg's payroll and is the national representative of the European organization CSR Europe. IMS is an independent, non-political, and non-profit organization.
IMS’ work program focuses on three key pillars. These are:
Sustainable Business: Championing businesses to be at the forefront of environmental and social sustainability.
Climate Action: Accelerating the transition to a zero-carbon future where people and nature thrive.
Thriving People: Growing prosperous and inclusive businesses and communities.
Within these areas, IMS advocates on behalf of members, champions their successes, holds them to account, facilitates high-impact collaborations, offers thought leadership, tools and resources.
