Seoul, November 2, 2017: The Korean BCSD welcomed Brendan Edgerton, WBCSD Manager of Circular Economy, to their 2017 Leaders Forum. Focused on identifying future challenges with the arrival of the fourth industrial revolution, the event hosted almost 100 CEOs and influential Korean leaders. The afternoon event was headlined by the Korean Minister of the Environment, Dr. Kim Eunkyung, who encouraged attendees to recognize business’s dependence on society, and society’s dependence on natural resources.
Brendan shared WBCSD’s CEO Guide to the Circular Economy, published earlier this year at the World Circular Economy Forum in Helsinki, Finland. He called for business leaders to adopt a circular mindset in thinking in how the design, manufacture and sell their products and services.
The KBCSD’s Forum was organized in coordination with the 2017 Sustainability & Innovation Conference. Organized by KBCSD member Latitude, both the KBCSD and WBCSD were partners in this two-day event that covered the Circular Economy for Consumer Goods. Over 200 people attended the second annual event, including representatives from LG, Samsung, TerraCycle and Sustainable Brands.
