Paris, 10 July 2018: Act4nature is an initiative launched by Entreprises pour l’Environnement (EpE), WBCSD’s Global Network partner in France, alongside 19 partners with the aim of mobilizing companies to protect, enhance and restore biodiversity.
To date, 65 companies*** have committed to joining act4nature and to undertake to integrate biodiversity concerns into their global development strategies and to contribute to the biodiversity targets set by the international community.
These commitments are part of a wider process leading up to COP15 of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) taking place in Beijing in 2020 as well as IUCN’s World Conservation Congress being held in Marseille, France in June 2020.
A kick-off event took place in Paris on 10 July, on the back of an announcement of the French government earlier in the month around a "mobilization for nature", aimed at stopping the decline of natural areas and species. Nicolas Hulot, France’s Minister for the Ecological and Inclusive Transition, headlined the event.
