About
A non-profit business organization, BCSD Taiwan has more than seventy members from leading companies in Taiwan, China. BCSD Taiwan joined the WBCSD shortly after its establishment in 1997. Our goal is to help Taiwanese companies create a roadmap for corporate sustainability.
In August 2021, Jonney Shih, the Chairman of ASUS, was appointed to lead BCSD Taiwan. With Mr. Shih's forward-looking viewpoint, BCSD Taiwan believes that this will advance corporate sustainability in Taiwan, China and strengthen ties between the council and the business community.
Priorities
Currently, BCSD Taiwan focuses on climate action, positive nature, circular economy and sustainable finance with the following initiatives:

Among past achievements, BCSD Taiwan has introduced a number of initiatives to member companies, including eco-efficiency, corporate social responsibility (CSR), GHG protocol, GRI 3/3.1/4/standards, <IR> framework, reporting issues, application of ERM to ESG risks, guide for improving the quality of ESG information for decision making, natural capital protocol, and CTI 3.0.
BCSD Taiwan has also contributed to the development of policies for mandatory ESG reporting with the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) and the Taipei Stock Exchange (TPEx) and has worked with Taiwan Index Plus Corporation to produce sustainability indices in Taiwan, China.
