About
SEVBCSD Greece was founded in 2008 as an independent legal entity, with the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV) as its main stakeholder.

Our mission is to constantly promote to enterprises, civil society and governmental authorities the importance and value of incorporating the principles of sustainable development into their decision-making process.

Our vision is to increase and accelerate business awareness and action towards achieving the EU Green Deal targets and UN Sustainable Development Goals, while maintaining the necessary level playing field to have a positive impact on the economy and society.

Priorities

• Climate Change: SEV BCSD Greece supports the EU Green Deal objective for the EU to become the first carbon-neutral continent by 2050. Representing the business community in the policy dialogue on climate change mitigation and adaptation, it focuses on creating the necessary level playing field for sectors exposed to "carbon leakage" while addressing the impacts of climate change on business and society. 
• Transition to Circular Economy: Looking beyond the current “take-make-dispose” business and consumption model, SEV BCSD Greece aims to raise business awareness, facilitate the transition towards “circular” models that minimize waste and overall environmental footprint and elevate business involvement in the creation of a viable market for circular products and services. 
• Environmental Legislation: SEV BCSD Greece strives to improve the effectiveness of environmental legislation and its compliance with widely accepted standards and best practices, as the necessary basis for sustainable growth and investment. 
• Biodiversity: Acknowledging that healthy ecosystems is a prerequisite for business resilience and economic growth, SEV BCSD Greece promotes business ambition and its transformation into actionable commitments for nature preservation and restoration.
• Promotion of the SDGs: SEV BCSD Greece promotes the incorporation of the SDGs in business strategies and collaborates with other stakeholders for their implementation at the national level.
