The Business Alliance for Development (AED) is made up of over 120 companies that seek to make Costa Rica more competitive by promoting responsible and sustainable business models. The AED guides the business sector to consider sustainable management principles and responsible business conduct as part of their business operations, reducing negative impacts and maximizing positive impacts on society, the environment and the economy.
Priorities
As part of its Value Proposition, AED conducts trainings and capacity building for continuous improvement of member companies, joining efforts on common projects and programs, promoting public policy on key sustainability issues in partnership with other public and private stakeholders.
The thematic areas are Climate Action and Biodiversity, Resilient Cities and Communities, Eco-efficiency and Circularity, Diversity and Inclusion, ESG Risk, HRH and Mobility, Sustainable Products and Services, among others.
AED also focuses on developing multi-sectoral alliances on major social, environmental, and economic challenges with four main impact areas: Education, Employment and Entrepreneurship, Economic Empowerment of Women and Climate and Nature Action.
