Geneva, 17 January 2020: Lanxess has joined over 200 forward-thinking companies as the newest member of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).
Lanxess is a leading specialty chemicals company whose core business is the development, manufacturing and marketing of chemical intermediates, additives, specialty chemicals and plastics.
Founded in 2005 as a spin-off of the Bayer Group’s chemical and plastics businesses, Lanxess has strong roots reaching back to 1863 when Bayer was founded. Headquartered in Cologne, Germany, Lanxess is a global company that is present at 60 production sites in 33 countries and employs over 15,000 people globally. The company is listed in the leading sustainability indices Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI World and Europe) and FTSE4Good.
Connecting with WBCSD’s network of forward-thinking businesses across a variety of sectors will enable Lanxess to continue to enhance and implement its sustainability ambitions in collaboration with like-minded partners, and make a real impact on global corporate sustainability.
