Panasonic Group has established a long-term environmental vision, Panasonic GREEN IMPACT (hereafter referred to as PGI), aiming to achieve both a "better life" and a "sustainable global environment." Under this vision, the group is engaged in business activities to reduce CO2 emissions from its operations to net zero by FY2031 and create impact that reduces CO2 emissions by more than 300 million tons*1, or about 1% of the current total global emissions*2 by 2050.
WBCSD is a global organization of about 200 leading companies aiming for sustainable development, working together to contribute to the transition to a sustainable society. It is currently working with governments, NGOs and international organizations around the world to address issues related to sustainable development.
PHD has joined WBCSD to accelerate the group's PGI activities, sympathizing with the philosophy of the transition to the global sustainable society that WBCSD is aiming for.
Moving forward, Panasonic Group will contribute to resolving social issues and realizing a sustainable society through our activities with the WBCSD project.
Peter Bakker, President & CEO of WBCSD said: “Technology has a fascinating and crucial role to play in addressing the three imperatives of our time: climate, nature and equity. PHD is on the cutting edge of technological innovation and sustainability and through maximizing their expertise, they will help propel actions and progress on the imperatives.”
