The built environment represents close to 40% of global energy-related greenhouse gas emissions and 50% of global resource extraction. That has to change if we are to reach the climate mitigation targets set out in the Paris Agreement. We need immediate action and collaboration from all stakeholders to achieve the shift to a net-zero and resilient built environment. If we don’t take action today, we risk locking in emissions and vulnerability into our buildings and infrastructure that will become increasingly costly to mitigate in the future.
Join us at COP26, virtually or in person, to discuss the necessary steps for halving global construction emissions by 2030 and reaching net zero by 2050.
