The wellbeing of farmers lies at the core of healthy agri-food systems. Yet, two-thirds of those living in poverty today are farmers and farm workers.
The concept of a Living Income is gaining rising momentum as a viable solution to poverty within agricultural value chains and as an opportunity for responsible business conduct.
In partnership with the Living Income Community of Practice and the Sustainable Food Lab, WBCSD produced a Living Income Business Toolkit aimed at supporting corporate members in integrating the concept of a living income into their Human Rights Due Diligence, Responsible Sourcing, and wider Sustainability practices, outlining the necessary steps to take meaningful action.
You can download the introductory one-pager here.
Here you can find our latest blog on the topic of living income.
The Toolkit is accessible to WBCSD’s Agriculture & Food Pathway members, please reach out to the Farmer Livelihoods team to gain full access.
