Emeline Fellus is Director of Food Reform for Sustainability and Health (FReSH) - a project of the Food and Agriculture Pathway of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), aiming to deliver healthy and sustainable diets to all, produced responsibly and within planetary boundaries. She is a Co-leader of the Food and Agriculture pathway, and a member of WBCSD’s Extended Leadership Group.
Prior to joining WBCSD, Emeline worked for 14 years in the Sustainable Agriculture Initiative (SAI Platform) – a business coalition of over 100 companies collaborating pre-competitively to scale up sustainable agriculture. At SAI Platform over these 14 years, Emeline moved from Associate to Manager and Deputy General Manager, while the initiative grew from 3 to 100+ companies.
Prior to joining SAI Platform, Emeline worked for two years as Associate Economic Officer in the Economics and Trade Branch of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). During that time, her main focus was on assessing the impacts of trade liberalization on the sustainability of the agriculture and fishery sectors of various countries.
Emeline holds an MsC in Policy and Economics of Natural Resources, as well as a BA in Agronomy, both from the French Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Agronomie de Rennes (ENSAR).
Emeline studied agricultural science in France and Germany. She took a year off in the middle of her studies to work as an intern in a Nature Park before picking her subject of specialization – having realized the major role that economic and policy considerations play on the development paths of all sectors. She has three kids and two cats – which she constantly tells herself are way too many to handle!
Emeline loves visiting new places and meeting new cultures – an interest which she tries to balance with the obvious need to travel sustainably. As part of these travels, taking pictures and enjoying food play important roles.
