2 July 2018, Geneva Switzerland: For the Leadership Program WBCSD partners with Yale University through its School of Management (SOM), The School of Forestry and Environmental Science (FES) and The Center for Business and the Environment at Yale (CBEY). It’s academically-rigorous and provides participants with insights and tools to take cutting edge sustainability practices back to their day-to-day employment.
The 2019 Program will explore the challenges associated with leading change for sustainability, as well as the opportunities for business.
During the year, participants will explore how to improve sustainability in decision-making; the challenges of communicating to stakeholders and the importance of ethics.
Participants will leave the Program with a better understanding of the socio-economic barriers and drivers that lead to poverty, conflict and abuses of human rights. They will also see and learn from case studies what progressive leaders are doing to address such issues.
“At the heart of the Program is experiential learning,” said Prof. Dr. Rodney Irwin, Managing Director of Education and Redefining Value at WBCSD. “Our unique approach allows students to get out of the classroom and practice new leadership skills in a safe environment. They meet with CEOs, business partners, entrepreneurs, government and civil society leaders to get hands-on exposure to environmental and social issues.”
Until recently, the Program was only open to WBCSD member companies. However, there are now a limited number of places for non-member participants. Interested participants or sponsors should download the brochure for more information on how to apply.
